We are looking for a hands-on problem solver to lead the People and Culture Manager role as part of our growing team. Our ideal candidate will be accustomed to human resources, recruiting, culture building, and working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can easily change. They will be able to prioritize concurrent projects and be passionate about doing so in a detailed and organized manner. The organization and structure of our leadership team is critical to ensure the success of our corporation as a whole. While it will continue to be a team effort, our ideal candidate will take ownership of the people and culture role, delegating when appropriate. This role is integral to our success as we commercialize our core product.
What you will do
Working closely with the CEO, you will have the opportunity to maintain the culture that has led to our early success at Zero Point Cryogenics, as we scale. We expect you to ask questions, learn, be open to growth, and attend development training as required.
- Own full-cycle recruitment for technical, manufacturing, and leadership roles.
- Manage and continuously improve a high-quality onboarding experience for all new hires.
- Develop training, performance, and retention programs that support a high-performance culture.
- Manage HR policies, performance frameworks, and compliance processes.
- Support organizational design, role clarity, and workforce planning as teams expand.
- Support managers with people leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Lead culture-building and employee-engagement initiatives aligned with ZPC’s core values.
- Manage compensation, benefits, and HR data/analytics to inform leadership decisions.
- Build and maintain ZPC’s employer brand to attract top technical and manufacturing talent.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, labour regulations, and workplace policies.
- Manage employee relations and oversee fair, consistent resolution processes.
- Support immigration processes and international hiring (as required).
You can succeed in this role if you have:
- Proven experience in HR, People & Culture, or People Operations within a scaling organization.
- Strong full-cycle recruitment ability, especially for technical, manufacturing, and leadership roles.
- Expertise in onboarding, training, performance management, and retention programs.
- Solid understanding of employment law, labour standards, and workplace compliance.
- Experience managing compensation & benefits, including familiarity with ESOP structures.
- Strong coaching and advisory skills for supporting managers with people leadership challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills—clear, empathetic, and professional.
- Data-driven approach with experience using HR systems (HRIS) and workforce analytics.
- Ability to manage employee relations with fairness, tact, and confidentiality.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to execute in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive culture-building and engagement initiatives.
- A high level of accuracy and are detail-oriented
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and Google Software (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet)
- Excellent time-management skills to meet firm deadlines
- Motivation and work ethic to stay engaged in a fast-paced, creative problem-solving environment
- A sense of responsibility for the technical quality of work, owning your mistakes, and holding yourself accountable to continuous improvement
- Willingness to take on unfamiliar tasks and to help the team learn what you figure out
- Openness to respectfully take guidance and training from management and coworkers
- A sense of ownership for the space that you are working in
Strong candidates will have:
- Experience scaling HR in a deep-tech, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Background in organizational design, role clarity, and workforce planning.
- Experience supporting immigration processes and international hiring.
- Familiarity with health & safety compliance in manufacturing settings.
- Experience with employer branding or talent marketing.
- HR certification (CPHR, SHRM, etc.).
- Experience implementing or optimizing advanced HRIS platforms.
- Prior responsibility for change management during periods of rapid growth.

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary of $85,000 – $105,000 CAD / Year
