Precision Components for Quantum Performance

Free Space Optical Access

  • Up to five* (5) optical windows with direct line-of-sight access to the experiment stage

Enhanced Vibration Isolation Package

  • Viscoelastic vibration-dampening pulse tube mounts
  • Double-gimbal bellows (T-bellows) and external isolation block in the still pumping line for reduction of pump vibrations
  • External mounts for the pulse-tube’s remote motor
  • Optional in-frame air suspension or in-frame dampeners for isolation from building vibrations
  • Optional Extra-large room temperature plate and support frame

Fiber Optics

  • Optical fibers to the experiment plate
  • Customizable wavelengths, IR to UV compatible

DC Wiring

  • Twisted pair looms, woven with PEEK yarn and kapton coated
  • Thermalized to each cryogenic stage with shielded bobbins
  • Micro-D connectors and breakout panels at the room temperature stage, 4 K stage, and mixing plate
  • Available materials:
    • Constantan – 42 SWG, 66 Ω/m
    • Copper – 42 SWG, 2.3 Ω/m
    • BeCu – 42 SWG, 10 Ω/m
    • NbTi, CuNi shield, superconducting below 4K
    • Other materials and wire gauges available on demand
  • Compatible with HEMT and cryo- amplifiers, isolators, circulators, mechanical stages, and other low-temperature electronics

RF Coax Cabling

  • RF coax cabling with line-of-sight access from the room temperature plate to the experimental stage
  • Includes feedthroughs on all low temperature stages, and hermetic feedthroughs on the room temperature stage (SMA, 2.92 mm, SMP(M), K-type)
  • Model L is compatible with rapid exchange of wiring harnesses
  • Available Materials:
    • High-attenuation stainless steel coax
    • Low attenuation BeCu
    • Low attenuation Cu
    • Superconducting NbTi
    • Semi-rigid coax lines or flex lines available

Superconducing Vector Magnets

  • Single Axis magnets:
    • 0.5 T to 12 T superconducting, cryogen-free magnets

  • Vector Magnets:
    • 2-axis and 3-axis vector magnets.
    • 0.5 T to 9 T per axis

Superfluid Helium Valve

  • Actuation pressure: tunable. Nominal operation at 5-10 bar
  • Operation temperature: 1 mK to 300+ K
  • Dimensions: 38 mm diameter, 16.6 mm height
  • Mounting: gold-plated Cu adapter disk, customized for your cryostat
  • Inlet & outlet tubing: 1 mm OD / 0.5 mm ID, fully welded connections
  • Compatible with 0.5 mm OD tubing solder connections
  • Closed-state superfluid leak rate:
    • Guaranteed: better than 1×10-9 mbar⋅L/s at 1.5 K
    • Expected: below 1.3×10-10 mbar⋅L/s at 1.5 K
  • Open-state flow rate: Better than 1.0 mbar⋅L/s, at 1.4 bar inlet pressure, 1.5 K

External Cold Trap

  • External cold trap for freezing out contaminant gases
  • Designed for operation at 77 K, within a liquid nitrogen dewar
  • All ZPC cryostats feature an extended life cold trap mounted to the 45 K plate. This removes the need for an external cold trap under normal operation. The external cold trap is included in all standard deliveries for your peace of mind.

Cooling Power Upgrades

  • All ZPC dilution refrigerators and continuous cold cryostats feature a pulse tube with 1.0 W of cooling power at 4.2 K, and a remote motor for reduced vibrations in your experiment
  • Available pulse tube upgrades:
    • 1.5 W cooling power at 4.2 K
    • 2.0 W cooling power at 4.2 K
    • 2.3 W cooling power at 4.2 K
  • All dilution refrigerators offer 250 μW cooling power at 100 mK. This can be upgraded to
    • 400 μW at 100 mK.
