Production Technician

Location: On-Site
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: CA$15.40 – CA$27.50 per hour

Who We are Looking for

We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, even if you do not meet every qualification listed below.

We are seeking a Production Technician with strong mechanical experience working on complex systems. This role is suited for someone who is confident in hands-on environments, takes ownership of their work, and contributes to keeping builds moving without relying on constant direction.

Given the specialized nature of our systems, all technicians spend time building a strong foundation in our processes, tools, and standards. From there, individuals are expected to quickly transition into independent execution, problem-solving, and ownership of increasingly complex work.

This role is best suited for someone who:

  • Brings solid mechanical experience from a technical or industrial environment
  • Works confidently with minimal oversight
  • Takes initiative and ensures work progresses without being prompted
  • Adapts quickly to new systems and applies learning in real time

What Will You Do

Working closely with multiple stakeholders, you will play a key role in executing and advancing system builds.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and integrating complex mechanical systems and subassemblies
  • Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and build documentation
  • Identifying required parts and materials ahead of work and coordinating as needed
  • Troubleshooting issues during builds and resolving them without disrupting progress
  • Maintaining build flow by proactively addressing gaps, sequencing issues, or delays
  • Supporting electrical and instrumentation work where required
  • Ensuring work meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Maintaining awareness of overall build progress and upcoming work
  • Supporting team members and contributing to overall production efficiency

Preferred Experience / Technical Skills

We are most interested in candidates who bring strong, transferable mechanical experience:

  • 4–8+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or technical production environments
  • Experience working on complex or multi-component systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
  • Experience planning work by identifying required parts, materials, and sequencing
  • Comfortable working with minimal oversight while maintaining high-quality output
  • Experience with tools and processes used in precision assembly or manufacturing
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems and processes

Nice to Have / Considered an Asset

  • Experience working with mechanical systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, vacuum systems, or industrial equipment
  • Exposure to electrical or instrumentation work
  • Experience in custom builds or project-based manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting installation, commissioning, or field work
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or scaling production environment

Experience in cryogenic systems is not expected. We value strong mechanical capability and the ability to learn complex systems quickly.

What Will You Bring

  • Strong ownership mindset—you take responsibility for outcomes, not just assigned tasks
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact progress
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong problem-solving capability in hands-on environments
  • A proactive approach to maintaining workflow and production efficiency
  • Reliability, consistency, and accountability in execution
  • Ability to contribute positively to team performance

Compensation and Benefits

  • Opportunity to earn up to $93,000 a year as scope, independence, and ownership increase
  • 100% employer-paid group benefits, including:
  • Health and dental
  • $750 annual Health Care Spending Account
  • Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
  • Flexible Paid Time Off policy
  • Paid statutory holidays
  • Employee-paid life insurance and long-term disability benefits
