We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Fabrication Polisher who takes pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining exceptional standards of craftsmanship.

This position is part of our dedicated Evening Shift team and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a strong eye for detail, and takes ownership of the quality of finished components. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring machined parts meet the appearance and finish requirements necessary for use in our highly specialized cryogenic systems.

Candidates must be willing and able to work evening shifts on a permanent basis. This is not a rotating shift position.

Shift Details

We believe work-life balance extends beyond the traditional workweek. Our Evening Shift schedule provides employees with a consistent four-day workweek and a three-day weekend every week.

  • Permanent Evening Shift
  • Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Three-day weekends every week (Friday–Sunday)
  • Salaried position with additional $3.00/hour shift premium
  • No rotating shifts
  • Candidates must be available to work evenings on a permanent basis

What Will You Do

Working closely with the machining and production teams, you will contribute to the preparation and finishing of precision components used in our cryogenic systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Polishing and finishing machined components to meet quality and cosmetic standards
  • Sanding, buffing, and surface finishing a variety of materials, including stainless steel, copper, and aluminum
  • Inspecting finished components to ensure quality requirements and specifications are met
  • Identifying defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies and escalating concerns as required
  • Handling and protecting delicate precision components during the finishing process
  • Supporting machining and production teams with component preparation and general manufacturing activities
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and workstations in a clean, organized, and safe condition
  • Following established safety procedures and quality standards
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and product quality
  • Contributing to team objectives and assisting where needed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience / Technical Skills

We are most interested in candidates who demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, polishing, deburring, automotive detailing, metal finishing, cabinetmaking, or other hands-on production environments
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to identify cosmetic and quality defects
  • Strong manual dexterity and comfort performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

Nice to Have / Considered an Asset

  • Previous experience polishing or finishing precision machined components
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and copper components
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience supporting process improvements or continuous improvement initiatives

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $50,000 CAD
  • Evening Shift Differential: Approximately $6,240 annually
  • Total annual compensation: Approximately $56,240 annually
