The Hon. Francois-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry announced on Friday, January 13, 2023, the launch of the National Quantum Strategy at the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo. The strategy aims to create jobs and advance quantum technologies within the country, backed by a first-of-its-kind investment of up to $360 million by the Federal Government. This is a significant step forward in Canada’s effort to strengthen global leadership in the field of quantum research and development. Zero Point Cryogenics’ CEO, Chris Cassin, was in attendance for the announcement. One of the key goals of Canada’s National Quantum Strategy is to increase investment in the quantum industry, which is expected to create thousands of new jobs and drive economic growth to the benefit of Canadian industry, governments, and citizens. Additionally, the strategy aims to support the development of new quantum technologies, such as quantum computing and quantum communications, which have the potential to revolutionize a wide range of industries. Zero Point Cryogenics is supportive of this announcement and is proud to have been one of four companies mentioned in the Government of Canada’s Official Press Release. As an advanced manufacturing company specializing in cryogenic equipment for quantum computing, Zero Point Cryogenics is well-positioned to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the National Quantum Strategy. “We are thrilled to be a part of the quantum industry in Canada and to have the support of the government behind us,” said the CEO of Zero Point Cryogenics. “The National Quantum Strategy will help us to continue to innovate and develop new technologies that, along with other Canadian stakeholders, will drive Canada’s quantum industry forward.”

Zero Point Cryogenics – Colder for Longer
Zero Point Cryogenics manufactures cryogenic equipment called dilution refrigerators, which are the primary low-temperature platform enabling quantum computing. The company is focused on designing robust and reliable dilution refrigerators to enable quantum technology research and innovation. ZPC is the only manufacturer of its kind in Canada and one of the few manufacturers of this technology in the world. The company is actively bridging the gap between customized and commercially scalable solutions, creating flexibility for quantum research and innovation while having the depth to scale. At Zero Point Cryogenics, we improve and iterate our designs based on customer optimization and are driven to build a product that stays colder for longer.
